It combines a rush-win boost similar to Unstoppable Force with a "knock the catch loose" coverage effect — normally two separate abilities, folded into one.
It activates and deactivates the same way other defensive-line X-Factors do — off sacks and tackles for loss, lost after giving up yardage — which means the knockout effect only turns on because the rush half is producing, not because of coverage plays on their own.
A recurring forum framing is blunt about it: run Reinforcement instead if the player is not actually going to rush the passer. The coverage knockout is a bonus layered on top, not the reason to equip it.
Head-to-head forum discussion frames Unstoppable Force as the stronger pick for a dedicated pass rusher, with Dual Threat suited to versatile or hybrid roles rather than out-performing a specialist in a pure rush role.
MUT.GG's own ability page states no player carries Dual Threat XF, so treat any read here as inherited from discussion of earlier seasons rather than confirmed by play.
